Introducing Westminster Chiropractor Dr. Allan Puritz

Dr. Allan Puritz

"Chiropractors, who really goes to them", or "They are not real doctors". I heard this numerous times when I told people I was going to become a Chiropractor. Me and all my patients are thankful every day that I didn't listen to all the skeptics.

Unlike many people, I didn't have any real chiropractic experience before deciding to become a chiropractor. My interest and curiosity came out of a long time desire to help people through a more natural hands on way.  A way without all the drugs, surgery, or just wait and see if it goes away medicine. Once I did some research, Chiropractic nearly hit me over the head.  It provided me with all that I had been looking for.

I completed my undergraduate degree at Towson State University and received my B.S. degree in 1990.  I then started my Chiropractic education at The National College of Chiropractic in Chicago.  I went through an intensive four year program and studied all there was to know about the human body and all it's frailties.  I  learned  to take and read  x-rays, and learned and exhaustively practiced various patient care techniques and treatment modalities.  Most importantly my education helped to reinforce my belief of treating people with respect and compassion as I would want if I were the patient.

I am not looking to change the world with Chiropractic.  I just want to help people who want to be helped. I want to give people another option, a more non-invasive and natural option.  A chance to not only STOP the pain, but a way to stay healthy and fit, and not just manage disease.

I have my loving wife Kim, and am fortunate to have two beautiful daughters ( I may be a little biased) Madison and Ashley.  I practice what I preach, as my whole family is adjusted regularly.  Not for pain or illness, but to stay healthy.  I call this wellness care and this is a much more exciting idea to me then disease management.  I also firmly believe the body and mind need plenty of good nutrition, exercise and rest.  All these components together are really THE BEST MEDICINE.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our website.  It would be my honor and privilege to meet with you and learn how I may be of service to you.  Give the office a call, or email me using the link below and let's arrange a time to explore your options".

Dr. Allan Asks some important questions of interest to Westminster residents - Chiropractor Westminster Dr. Allan Asks...

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
What's a side effect?
It may sound like a bonus; something extra, but chiropractors know it should more accurately called an "unintended effect," and "unwanted effect" or in some cases an "adverse effect." A pill can't come close to matching your body's ability to create and deliver the essential compounds it needs. That's when it's important to make sure your nervous system is working correctly—the purpose of chiropractic care!
